“You can’t do it alone.” That’s what my friend always tells me when I’m feeling down on myself. She’s right, of course. You need a team to back you up and there’s no one better than your coach. When I first met her she was all business, but eventually we got to know each other and now she often chats with me about our lives outside of the gym or pool or track field. We’ve shared some heartbreaking stories over the years so I’m lucky to have her as not just a trainer, but also as a friend.
